Thieves boast about how fast they are able to break into something that belongs to you--whether it be your car or your home. They have to do what they are doing quickly, so that they are gone by the time anyone notices or by the time the authorities arrive. The longer they have to spend breaking in, the sooner they have to be gone and the less time they have to steal.
