Rolling shutters can be designed into new construction to be completely 'built-in' so that when rolled up, a passerby would not know that the shutters were there.

However, it is imperative that we be consulted early in the design process.  Built-in shutter design affects many aspects of the home building process.  Tell your architect or builder to call us in the schematic phase - before arbitrary decisions are made that can adversely affect the end product.
